Marc & Klara Francis – Really Awesome Coffee Lincoln West

Before joining Really Awesome Coffee, Marc was working for a large internet company in customer services & Klara was working for Hermes as a delivery driver.

We caught up with Marc and Klara recently and here they tell us how it has been going since they launched their Really Awesome Coffee van in Lincoln West.

Please tell us a bit about yourself and what you were doing prior to becoming a Really Awesome Franchisee?

My name is Marc Francis. I had was in a RTA, when I was 17 years old, which left me paralysed from the chest down. I am now a wheelchair user for the rest of my life. Being paralysed has only made me strong and more determined to achieve goals in life. I played wheelchair tennis and I was working in customer service before joining the really awesome coffee family.

Why did you decide to run your own business and why Really Awesome Coffee specifically?

I decided to run a business because I wanted to be my own boss and provide more for my family. I chose a franchise as the business model is already set up for you and the fact that if you need any help, the support is already there in place, if anything goes wrong. The reason for being a mobile coffee van is because you get to decide the hours you work and not only that you get to work with the public and you can bring them a small piece of comfort into their lives. The reason for really awesome coffee franchise is the company is well branded and the fact they sell great coffee. The writing is self explanatory on the side of the van, clothing, cups.

Tell us a bit about your training at Head Office and your business launch.

The training at head office was well thought out. Being in a wheelchair I was a little bit nervous but they set up a station for me with all the coffee machine at my height, not only that, they set us up with the perfect FDM. We have learnt so much from Scott. It’s has been a great experience and we have both really enjoyed taking on this new challenge. During our launch week, all customers have given us great reviews and all have really loved our coffee and products that we are selling. Without them we would not be this positive about moving forward.

How have you found the ongoing training and support?

Our FDM is amazing, he has so much knowledge about coffee and is always there to guide us help us. The team at HQ have been great and have provided us with the support needed though out the whole process. From start to finish

What is the most invaluable piece of advice you could give someone looking to invest in their first franchise?

Take on the challenge and don’t look back!! Live is for living and you make your own goals in life, taking on a franchise is not easy but with a great franchise support you can make your dream come true.
